Add a signed record of how your file was made
You upload an image or a video and tell if AI made it, who the author is and which tool you used. Orisigil puts these details into the file and signs the record.
The recipient opens the file in a verification tool. The tool shows what you stated and if the file changed after the signature.
To sign, you need a free account with a confirmed email. After the confirmation, you go back to the file upload.
Example: a studio sends a menu photo to a café
Mockup, sample data
Step 1 of 4 · Original file
A usual photo. The file itself does not show how it was made.
- File
- latte-menu.jpg
- Format
- JPEG
- Creation details
- none
The studio extended the background of the photo with AI. It wants to tell this to the client honestly.
Step 2 of 4 · Your details
Creation method
- AI-generated
- selected: AI-edited
- Not specified
- Author name · optional
- Studio Nord
- Tool · optional
- Image editor with generative fill
- Note · optional
- Background extended with AI, the drink is not changed
These are your statements. Orisigil records them as they are and does not check them.
Step 3 of 4 · Signed file
The image is the same. The file now contains a record that Orisigil signed.
- Your details: creation method, author, tool, note
- Who signed the record and when
- A digital signature that shows if the file changed after the signing
The studio sends this file to the client as usual.
Step 4 of 4 · What the recipient sees
Result of the check
The signature is valid
The file did not change after the signing
Signed by: Orisigil
The verification tool decides if it trusts the signer
Stated by the sender · not checked
- Method
- AI-edited
- Author
- Studio Nord
- Note
- Background extended with AI
The look depends on the verification tool. This is an illustration, not a real result.
What are Content Credentials and C2PA
Content Credentials
This is the name of the record in a file: the details of how the file was made and the digital signature of the party that made the record. Orisigil adds this record to your file.
C2PA
An open technical standard to make and check these records. Because of it, different compatible verification tools can read the record.
When this helps
You deliver work to a client, and you made a part of it with AI
The client gets a file that contains your signed statement. Any compatible tool can check it. Nobody must look for it in old messages.
You publish a generated illustration or video
The label “AI-generated” is in the file itself, not only in the text of the post. Platforms that support Content Credentials can read and show it.
Your team makes many files
Connect the API or MCP, and the records are added automatically from your code or from an AI agent.
How to sign a file
In the browser, with no software to install
- One time
Create an account and confirm your email
Only users with a confirmed email can sign. This connects each signature to a real account, and only you can see your files. After the confirmation, you go back to the signing.
Upload a file
JPEG, PNG or MP4. The upload page shows the size limits. They are the same for everyone.
Give the details
The creation method: AI-generated, AI-edited or not specified. If you want, also the author name, the tool and a note.
Download the signed file
Send it as usual. Some programs remove the record when they save the file again or compress it. Thus keep the signed original.
What the check confirms and what it does not
The result of a check contains four different things. It is important to keep them apart.
- Stated
Creation details
The creation method, the author, the tool and the note are the words of the sender. Orisigil does not check them and does not detect AI.
- Signer
Who signed the record
Orisigil is the service that made and signed the record. It is not the author of the file, and it does not confirm authorship.
- Checked
The signature is valid
The file and the record did not change after the signing. If a person changes the image or the details, the signature does not match any more.
- The verification tool decides
Trust in the signer
Is the certificate of the signer on the trust list of this verification tool? A signature can be valid when the signer is not on that list.
What Orisigil does not do
- It does not confirm authorship or copyright
- It does not check if the details are true
- It does not detect if AI made the file
- It does not prevent copies of the file
- It does not guarantee that a platform shows the record
For automation
The same records from your code or AI agent
- REST API
- Upload a file, create a job with the same fields and download the result. You create the API key in the dashboard.
- MCP
- Connect Orisigil to an MCP client. After you give access, the agent can sign files for you.
This is also free and also needs a confirmed email.
# 1. upload the file curl -H "Authorization: Bearer $KEY" \ -F file=@latte-menu.jpg \ https://orisigil.com/api/v1/assets # 2. create a job with the details curl -H "Authorization: Bearer $KEY" \ -H "Idempotency-Key: run-42" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{"asset_ids":["<id>"], "options":{"creation_method":"ai_edited", "author":"Studio Nord"}}' \ https://orisigil.com/api/v1/signing-batches # 3. download the signed file curl -H "Authorization: Bearer $KEY" -o signed.jpg \ https://orisigil.com/api/v1/signing-jobs/<job id>/result
Free for registered users
The browser, the API and MCP are available to everyone after the registration and the email confirmation. There are no plans and no payments. The file size limits are technical and the same for everyone.
Frequent questions
Does the image or the video change?
No. We add a signed record to the file. We do not edit the visible content.
Does Orisigil confirm that I am the author?
No. The author name is your statement. The service does not check authorship and does not confirm copyright.
Can the record disappear from the file?
Yes. Some editors, messengers and platforms remove these data when they save the file again or compress it. Keep the signed original and send it without a new encoding.
My file already has Content Credentials. What happens?
Before the signing, we show the details that we found. If we cannot process the existing history correctly, the job stops and tells why.
Do social networks and other platforms show the record?
Each platform decides if it reads Content Credentials and how it shows them. We cannot guarantee it.
Who can see my files?
Only your account can get the files and the results. We do not publish them and do not use them to train models.
